Ibiza · 3 days · First trip
Ibiza has a reputation that arrives before you do, and first-timers are often surprised by how much quieter the real island is. This three-day plan leans into that: a walled old city you climb on foot, an archaeological site built around a Phoenician necropolis, protected salt flats and a proper stretch of sand, all at a pace you can actually enjoy.
Each day is built around one anchor and short hops between stops, with meals placed where you will genuinely want them rather than where a map looks tidy. Day 1 eases you in with the town's green and archaeological side, Day 2 takes on the fortified old city in a single climb, and Day 3 heads out to the salt flats and the coast before circling back to the walls.
Nothing here needs booking far in advance, and nothing assumes a day behind the wheel. You can also open this exact trip in the Wayfaro app and regenerate it for your own dates, group and pace — the stops stay, the timings adjust.

The day starts with a long breakfast at The Skinny Kitchen, an all-day spot that sets the tone for the trip: unhurried, generous and central enough that you never feel locked into a schedule.
From there it is Puig des Molins, an archaeological site and museum built around a Phoenician necropolis, with the finds recovered from the tombs on display inside. It is the single best introduction to how old this island really is, and doing it on day one gives everything that follows some context — tomorrow you will recognise the same layers of history in the old city.
Lunch at Agape breaks the day cleanly, and then BiBo Park (Ibiza Botánico Biotecnológico) supplies the green, shaded counterweight to a morning spent among stone and glass cases. It is a short, low-effort visit, which is exactly what a hot afternoon calls for.
The day closes at Puerto Fino Ibiza, a harbour-side dinner that hands you the water views you came for without the climb or the queue of the old town's steep lanes.

Fuel up at Can Kiwi: Day 2 is the walking day, and the climb through the old city goes much better on a full stomach.
Torre des Carregador comes next, a low-key warm-up that puts the island's defensive architecture in front of you before you meet it at full scale.
After lunch at Little Ibiza Restaurant and Bar, you pass through Portal de ses Taules, the massive arched gate cut through the fortified walls that opens onto the steep, narrow streets of the old city. This is the moment the trip clicks. Keep climbing to Catedral de Santa Maria, a medieval cathedral set along the walled enclosure with sweeping views (mass hours vary, so treat entry as a bonus rather than a fixture), and then to Castle of Ibiza at the very top, where the panorama opens over the medieval fortifications and narrow laneways.
The order is deliberate: Portal de ses Taules, the cathedral and Castle of Ibiza form one continuous ascent, so you climb once instead of three times.
On the way down, One Cup Coffee IBZ is the reset — a specialty coffee stop for tired legs — before dinner at Can Tina Restaurant.

Perdición opens the day, and then you head for Parc Natural de ses Salines, where walkways cross the salt flats and the expansive wetlands that serve as nesting grounds for migratory birds. Go before the heat builds: the light over the flats is best early, and there is almost no shade out on the boardwalks.
Mama chia is the mid-day stop, timed for the moment you come back off the walkways wanting something light rather than a full sit-down meal.
Caballete Beach follows — the swim and the towel hours every Ibiza trip owes you. Its place after the nature reserve is deliberate: by then the sensible move is to be in the water rather than walking beside it.
Baluarte de Santa Lucía brings the trip back to the fortifications for one last vantage point, and dinner at Cremat Beach Ibiza closes the plan at the water's edge.

Ibiza is at its most comfortable in late spring and early autumn, when the light stretches out, the water is warm enough for a swim and the walled city is pleasant to climb. Summer concentrates the heat and the crowds, so start early and save the ramparts for the softer hours. Winter is quiet and green, with mild days and far fewer visitors — some venues keep shorter hours, but the island feels like yours. This itinerary is built to work in any season.
For a first visit, yes. Three days is enough to walk the walled old city end to end, see the archaeological site at Puig des Molins, cross Parc Natural de ses Salines and get a real beach afternoon at Caballete Beach, with two or three sit-down meals a day and no punishing early starts. This itinerary runs at roughly five stops per day, which leaves room to linger. A fourth day would buy you more beach, not more sights.
Day 2 is the heaviest: Portal de ses Taules up to Castle of Ibiza is one continuous climb on cobbles. Day 1 and Day 3 are gentler — Puig des Molins and BiBo Park are compact, and the boardwalks at Parc Natural de ses Salines are flat.
Not for the old city days. Day 3 spreads out more, since Parc Natural de ses Salines and Caballete Beach sit away from the centre, so plan transport for that stretch. Everything else on the plan is walkable or a short hop.
